This single phase of the massive program is an introductory phase to every athlete who is getting into vertical jump training. This first phase covers the basics of sprinting, lifting and body awareness. This phase is foundational to every other 11 phases after. VTOL is the biggest and most comprehensive program Zach has ever created. Developed in 2018, updated every year since and will be continually updated throughout the foreseeable future, this program is the absolute heart and soul of Zach and his passions for training. 

While each athlete he trains privately gets their own customized version this 48 week long program has been modified with the athlete performing this entire program on their own without the help of a trainer or partner. The lifts are “basic” in the sense that they are not tailor-made to one specific athlete or sport. This is the skeleton version with as many bells and whistles added onto it. This full version consists of 12 phases, each totaling 4 weeks and lasting almost an entire year. This program is the foundation of RUSP and the key to every single vertical jump athlete Zach has ever worked with.
